WILMINGTON, N.C. – The University of Iowa men’s golf team is in 10th place after the second round of the Williams Cup at Eagle Point Golf Club.
Sophomore Ian Meyer leads the way for Iowa, tied for 19th on the leaderboard at six-over par (150) through 36 holes. His eight birdies tie for third in the field through two rounds after adding three more to his total on Saturday shooting 78 (+6).
Senior Mac McClear posted the low Hawkeye score in the second round, shooting 75 (+3) to bring his total to 153 (+9) heading into the final day of competition. McClear looks to once again crack the top 25, something he has achieved in each of Iowa’s four tournaments this fall.
No. 8 North Carolina leads the field by 14 strokes at one-under par (575) through two rounds. Meyer is eight strokes back from leader Drew Salyers of Indiana.
