IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s basketball team was selected No. 1 in the Preseason Big Ten Coaches and Media polls. Junior guard Caitlin Clark was voted Preseason Player of the Year in both polls. Fifth-year post player Monika Czinano and Clark earned All-Big Ten honors in both polls and were both unanimously selected by the coaches, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
The Hawkeyes return a plethora of talent from a year ago including all five starters that led the team to the Big Ten Tournament title and a share of the regular season Big Ten Championship. Iowa earned the No. 2 seed the NCAA Tournament in 2022, after another successful regular season campaign under head coach Lisa Bluder.
