Four Hawkeyes Named Academic All-District

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Four members of the University of Iowa soccer team earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America program recognizes the nation’s top collegiate athletes for combined performance on the field and in the classroom. Seniors Hailey Rydberg, Jenny Cape and Samantha Cary, as well as sophomore Addie Bundy, each earned Academic All-District recognition.

Both Rydberg and Cary were team captains in 2022. Rydberg led the team offensively with 14 points and five goals on the season, while Cary anchored a Hawkeye defense that poste six clean sheets on the year.

Cape and Bundy combined for 751 minutes this season across seven starts. Bundy drilled her first collegiate goal this season, the game-winner at No. 13 Northwestern on Oct. 20.

To qualify for the honor, each student athlete was required to post at least a 3.5 GPA while reaching a minimum threshold of playing time on the pitch.
