Kupcova Heads to FINA World Cup

INDIANAPOLIS — University of Iowa freshman Sabina Kupcova is set to compete in the 2022 FINA Swimming World Cup at the IU Natatorium on Thursday-Saturday.

The Levice, Slovakia, native will compete in the 400 free on Thursday, the 200 free on Friday and the 200 individual medley on Saturday for a chance to qualify for the World Championships in Australia on December 13-18.

"The coaching staff is very proud of how we competed tonight against our first Big Ten opponent of the season. We're making tremendous progress in both swimming and diving events. We had some great wins tonight and came up a little short, but we're learning a lot about our young team and how they can continue to get better in practice and move forward.”
