Hawkeyes Travel to Florida for First Spring Scrimmage

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa rowing will head to Orlando, Fla. for two days of scrimmages with the University of Central Florida on Feb. 10-11.

The Hawkeyes will compete with UCF on Lake Pickett during both days. Races on Friday will begin at approximately 4 p.m. (ET) followed by 8 a.m. start time on Saturday.

This will be Iowa’s second stint in Florida so far in 2023 after practicing on Lake Beresford during the first week of January.

Iowa will have just over a month before meeting up with Big Ten opponent Michigan State in Tempe, Az. on Mar. 18 for the Hawkeyes’ last set of scrimmages before the spring championship season.

“We are excited to head back down to Florida for our scrimmage with UCF. The Golden Knights always have speed, which will give us a great indication of how we are progressing through our winter indoor training.”
