The University of Iowa women’s golf team is heading to the Golden State to compete at the Fresno State Classic from March 26-27 in Fresno, California. The 54-hole tournament will be played at the San Joaquin Country Club with a 36-hole shotgun start on Monday followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

THE LINEUP
The Hawkeyes will send five golfers to California for the tournament. Iowa’s lineup will include sophomore Paula Miranda, freshman Shannyn Vogler, freshman Madison Dabagia, freshman Kaitlyn Hanna and senior Jordan Amelon.
THE FIELD
Iowa will compete against a field of 14 teams that includes: Arkansas State, Cal State-Bakersfield, Fresno State, Cal State-Fullerton, Grand Canyon, Iowa, Long Beach State, Nevada, Cal State-Northridge, Oral Roberts, Rutgers, UC Irvine, UC Riverside and Xavier.
• Four teams in the field — Nevada (20), Xavier (73), Long Beach State (86) and Grand Canyon (100) — are ranked in the top 100 nationally in the Golfstat rankings.
THE COURSE
The San Joaquin Country Club is located in the heart of central California just north of Fresno. The course sits along the San Joaquin River and features terrific views and tall palm trees throughout the course with challenging play for all levels of golfers. As well, the nationally recognized course has been home to PGA Championships and many high level tournaments The course was designed by Bob E. Baldock in 1961, Baldock has left his mark on the West Coast on over 50 courses.
