MADISON, Wis. — The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished eighth at the Badger Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday at the University Ridge Golf Course. The Hawkeyes finished with an 889 (296-294-299) — 10 shots out of fifth place.
Sophomore Shannyn Vogler had the team’s top round on the day, finishing with a one-over par 73. Vogler tied for 52nd place overall with a 226 (75-78-73).
Junior Paula Miranda paced the team on the weekend, placing 22nd with a 220 (72-73-75). Sophomores Madison Dabagia and Kaitlyn Hanna both carded 222s to tie for 26th.
Hanna’s 222 total is the lowest 54-hole score of her career. The Omaha, Nebraska, native had a career-low 72 during Round 2.
South Florida claimed the team title, finishing with a four-under par 860. UTSA’s Camryn Carreon was the medalist, shooting a nine-under par 207.

“We definitely have some positives to take away from our first event. Kaitlyn posted her career best and Madi and Paula were strong out the gate. We felt like we struck the ball well as a group and can continue to pick up some shots on the greens. We are eager to get back on the road for our next two events this weekend.”
