IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa Track & Field welcomes Amanda Howe as Director of Track and Field Operations. Howe is a 2023 University of Iowa graduate and former track & field student-athlete.
A native of Southington, Connecticut, Howe was a standout collegiate thrower for the Hawkeyes. In 2023, Howe was a second-team All-American in the hammer throw, placing 12th with a season-best 209-3 (20.60m) result at the NCAA Championships. Howe also moved to second all-time at Iowa in the weight throw with a 71-5.5 (21.78m) mark at the Tyson Invite.
Howe was a 2022 Big Ten Champion in the hammer throw, breaking her own school record with a toss of 212-9 (64.84m). Her resume at the Big Ten Championships included three top-five finishes in the weight throw and three top-12 performances in the hammer throw.
Howe was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
Most recently, Howe worked as a paralegal with Brignole, Bush and Lewis, LLC in Hartford, Connecticut. Howe graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Sociology and Criminology.
