Dabagia Shoots -1 on Day 1 in Florida

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Sophomore Madison Dabagia carded a one-under par 143 to lead the University of Iowa women’s golf team on day one of the FAU Paradise Invitational at the Osprey Point Golf Club.

Iowa is in sixth place as a team with a four-over par 580. The Hawkeyes shot back-to-back 290s (+2) on the day.

Dabagia carded four birdies during round one to sit in a tie for eighth place on the individual leaderboard. In round two, the Indiana native had three birdies en route to an even par 72. She is currently tied for 12th place with a one-under par 143 (71-72).

Sophomore Kaitlyn Hanna fired back-to-back even par 72s to finish with a 144. She is tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard. The Omaha native had three birdies and an eagle on the par five first to highlight her opening round and she followed with four birdies in round two.

Sophomore Riley Lewis shaved four strokes off her score from round one to round two, putting her in a tie for 39th place with a 148 (76-72). Junior Paula Miranda had a strong start to the tournament, shooting a one-under par 71; she is currently tied for 43rd with a 149 (71-78).
