WACO, Texas – The University of Iowa rowing team finished their week down south in an exhibition against No. 18 SMU on Friday and Saturday.
The Hawkeyes competed against the Mustangs in eight’s and four’s in 4x1250k sprints on Friday, followed by 2x2k sprints on Saturday.
Iowa is back in action on March 29 at the Sunshine State Invite in Sarasota, Florida.

“This week was an excellent week of growth for all of the Hawkeyes. The team handled the travel and all the challenges we encountered throughout the week. They continued to build off the successes of our early scrimmages and are starting to find some top end speed. This weekend’s racing with SMU was another success for the team as we move towards our more traditional 2k season. They continue to impress me with their ability to embrace the challenges of racing and the spirit that they bring on race day! GO HAWKS!”
