MADISON, Wisc. – The 62nd-ranked University of Iowa women’s tennis team fell 4-0 at No. 29 Wisconsin on Friday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
The loss drops the Hawkeyes’ record to 8-8 overall and 3-2 in Big Ten action.
In doubles, the Badgers captured the point with wins in at the No. 1 and 3 positions. Junior Barbora Pokorna and sophomore Pia Kranholdt earned a win at the No. 2 spot over pair Xinyu Cai and Ellison Reynoldson, 6-2, bringing their doubles record to a 10-4 record this season.
Wisconsin sealed the match with singles wins on courts Nos. 1, 3, 6. Kranholdt captured the first set of her match against Cai, 7-5, but the match went unfinished due to Wisconsin’s victory.

“We ran into a very good Wisconsin team, it was our first match outdoors since January so that is always a really important transition for us. We definitely have to go back to the drawing board and figure out how we can be more competitive in those doubles points. But, the team continued to fight hard in singles and unfortunately couldn’t get enough of those first sets to turn. We learned a lot and it was a good day,
