The University of Iowa men’s golf team is set to host the Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament will take place April 7-9 in Naples, Florida.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The 54-hole tournament tees off on Sunday and concludes Tuesday, with 18 holes to be played each day. The tournament tees off at 12 p.m. (ET) on Sunday and Monday and 8 a.m. (ET) on Tuesday.

THE FIELD
The Hawkeyes will host a loaded eight-team field that features five top-40 ranked opponents in No. 16 Florida, No. 15 Georgia Tech, No. 22 Georgia, Miami (OH), Nebraska, No. 30 Purdue, No. 36 Wake Forest.
Five participants were selected to participate in the NCAA Regionals last year.
Florida, Georgia, and Georgia Tech advanced to the NCAA Championships. Florida defeated Georgia Tech in the finals to claim the 2023 National Championship.
THE COURSE
Named among the “Top 10 Best New Private Clubs” in the United States according to Golf Digest, Calusa Pines features sweeping hills and ridges that influence play. Golf Digest also ranks Calusa Pines the No. 93 course in the United States and fifth in the state of Florida for 2023. The Hurdzan-Fry design features iconic perched greens, providing an added challenge in the short game for even skilled players. The Calusa Cup is the only collegiate event hosted at the prestigious club.

ALL-AMERICAN INTERCOLLEGIATE RECAP
The Hawkeyes placed seventh out of 20 times last time out at the All-American Intercollegiate hosted by Houston.
Senior Mac McClear and junior Ian Meyer were the low finishers for Iowa at 2-over par. McClear and Meyer tied for 14th place.
The Hawkeyes played their final round at four-under par, the lowest team score of the final round.
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
This will be the fourth consecutive year of the Hawkeyes hosting the Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club.
Iowa’s best team finish in Naples is seventh in 2021, when Alex Schaake ’21 tied for fifth place shooting 215 (-1). Schaake closed out play with a third-round 67 (-5) to place ahead of two top-10 ranked golfers.
HURDZAN-FRY TIES
Calusa Pines was designed by Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry, a design partnership behind many elite courses across the United States, and particularly the Midwest. US Open site Erin Hills in Erin, Wisconsin, is another notable Hurdzan-Fry collaboration. Fry’s firm also designed the new McCarty Short Game Facility at Iowa’s Hoak Family Golf Complex in Iowa City.
