IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa senior Jack Young was selected by the Chicago White Sox on Monday in the 9th Round of the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft. Young was the 259th pick overall.
Young is the 32nd player drafted under head coach Rick Heller.
The LeClaire, Iowa, native had a team best 2.76 ERA in 28 appearances in 2024. He had a 2-1 record and struck out 47 in 32 2/3 innings of work.
The Hawkeyes finished the 2024 season with a 31-23 overall record. Iowa finished fourth in the Big Ten regular season standings and made its ninth straight Big Ten Tournament appearance.
