IOWA CITY, Iowa – Game two of the Black and Gold Series ended in a tie, 7-7, on Thursday evening at Pearl Field.
The Gold team opened the scoring in the top of the first as three runs came home on just one hit. The Gold team added to their lead in the second inning on RBIs from Desiree Rivera and Mya Clark. They kept the scoring going in the third on a sac fly from Tatianna Roman to extend their lead to six.
The Black team got on the board in the fourth inning on an RBI ground out from Talia Tretton and an RBI single from Haley Downe to make it, 6-2. The Black team kept the scoring going in the fifth as Jaidyn Sellers came home a double from Allyssa Ramos to cut the Gold team lead to three.
The Black team fought back in the bottom of the seventh as Avery Jackson sent an RBI single through the left side to make it, 6-4. Ramos sent an RBI down the tie the game at seven with two outs.
Iowa returns to action next Thursday Sept. 19 for the final game of the Black and Gold Series. First pitch at Bob Pearl Field is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT. Admission to the game is free.
