3 Hawkeyes to Compete in Husky Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Three University of Iowa women’s tennis student-athletes – juniors Pia Kranholdt and Nikita Vishwase and sophomore Jessica Matthews – will complete at the Husky Invitational on Friday through Sunday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center and Seattle Tennis Club.

The trio will compete in both singles and doubles matches throughout the weekend against opponents from Denver, Seattle, Washington and Washington State.

“It’s great for Nikita, Pia and Jessica to get their chance to get out and start competing this year,” said Iowa head coach Sasha Boros-Schmid. “I’m excited for them to get on the court and play against some good quality competition and get exposure to our new Big Ten opponent, Washington. It should be a great lead-up event for them as we get ready to head to the ITA Central Regionals.”
