IOWA CITY, Iowa – For the second consecutive season, University of Iowa Athletics has officially partnered with the University of Iowa Energy Collaborative as the presenting sponsor of Hawkeye Women’s Basketball through a relationship facilitated by Learfield’s Hawkeye Sports Properties.
The University of Iowa Energy Collaborative, an entity comprised of ENGIE North America and Meridiam, is a public-private partnership developed to ensure the long-term reliability and sustainability of the University’s utility services.
“The University of Iowa Energy Collaborative and their partners, Engie and Meridiam, are excited to continue their support of the University of Iowa’s women’s basketball program for the second year in a row. We believe that supporting UI women’s basketball in this crucial time helps elevate all women’s sports and their athletes across the United States and abroad,” said Joy Thakur, Chief Executive Officer, University of Iowa Energy Collaborative.
As the presenting sponsor of Hawkeye women’s basketball, University of Iowa Energy Collaborative receives prominent in-venue signage placement, a women’s basketball game sponsorship, social media exposure and a presence during broadcasts on the Hawkeye Radio Network.
“We are very excited to have the UI Energy Collaborative continue as the presenting sponsor of Hawkeye women’s basketball. They were part of a special season last year and we can’t wait for them to join us in ushering in a new era of Iowa women’s basketball,” said Beth Goetz, Henry B. and Patricia B. Tippie Director of Athletics Chair.
Hawkeye Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield – the media and technology company powering college athletics – is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Iowa Athletics and oversees all sponsorship agreements on behalf of the Hawkeyes. Hawkeye Sports Properties does not represent the student-athletes themselves but collaborates with corporate partners to maximize sponsorship agreements with the inclusion of NIL programs and the integration of university marks and logos within those programs.
