ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team wrapped up a successful run at the ITA Sectional Championships with Daianne Hayashida capturing the consolation title on the final day of competition.
Hayashida delivered a commanding performance in the consolation final, defeating Audrey Spencer from Ohio State in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.
“I’m incredibly proud of Daianne,” said head coach Sasha Boros-Schmid. “She faced tough opponents all weekend. Winning the consolation bracket and finishing the tournament strong was a fantastic effort. This was a great way to wrap up the fall season, and we’re looking forward to kicking off team competition in January.”
