IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa gymnastics head coach Jen Llewellyn announced the signing of Maggie Ball, Daisy Bowles, Stella DePaola and Sophie Schriever for 2025.
“This 2025 recruiting class is one that we are thrilled about!” said Coach Llewellyn. “Each of them have tremendous character, talent and a drive to bring excellence in everything they do. The four of them will be expected to add immediate depth in all four events.”

- Finished fifth in the all-around, 13th on vault and floor and 14th on bars at 2024 National Championships

“Sophie’s impact will be felt right away as she brings to campus a massive vault, dynamic bar routine, consistent beam work, and a unique floor routine that will prove to be a staple for our program for the foreseeable future. Sophie brings a competitive drive in everything she does that makes her gymnastics fun to watch. Her lighthearted approach to the sport combined with her impressive athletic abilities will not only drive our gymnastics, but our culture as well. We expect big things from Sophie in the all-around as a freshman and we could not be happier that she chose Iowa to be her home for the next four years!”
