Hawkeyes Announce Complete 2025 Schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa head softball coach Renee Gillispie released details of the Hawkeyes’ 54-game regular season schedule on Thursday. The Hawkeye’s 2025 slate features 18 games at Bob Pearl Field. Iowa will begin its season at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Florida, from Feb. 7-9. The Hawkeyes are set to host St. Thomas in their home opener on Wednesday Mar. 12.

SCHEDULE NOTES

  • The Hawkeyes travel to Florida twice in the first three weeks of the season for the NFCA Leadoff Classic (Feb. 7-9) in Clearwater and the FIU Panther Invitational (Feb. 21-22) in Miami.
  • Iowa will play six games against SEC opponents. The Hawkeyes will face Tennessee and Kentucky opening weekend and will then travel to Arkansas and Alabama for tournaments where they will play two games against the host schools.
  • The Hawkeyes will head to Commerce, Texas Feb. 14-16 for the Lions Classic hosted by East Texas A&M. ETAMU’s head coach is Iowa alumni Brittany Miller (Weil).
  • Iowa will host seven non-conference games at Bob Pearl Field. Including double headers against St. Thomas and South Dakota State and single games against Illinois State, Iowa State and UNI.
  • The Hawkeyes home opener on March 12 against St. Thomas is the earliest home game in program history.
  • The Hawkeyes host UCLA (Mar. 22-13), Nebraska (Apr. 4-6), Penn State (Apr. 19-21) and Rutgers (May 2-4) in conference series and travel for road series at Indiana (Mar. 15-16), Wisconsin (Mar. 28-30), Maryland (Apr. 11-13) and Michigan State (Apr. 25-17).
  • Iowa will be on the road for midweek matchups at Iowa State on Apr. 15 and Drake on Apr. 22.
  • The Hawkeyes will face seven teams that were 2024 NCAA Tournament participants including Alabama and UCLA who advanced to the Women’s College World Series.

Coach Gillispie is entering her seventh season at Iowa. The Hawkeyes return 19 student-athletes including 2024 Big Ten honorees Rylie Moss and Jena Young.
