Hawkeyes Finish Fall Strong in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Iowa rowing team finished its fall season alongside Big Ten opponents Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan State and Wisconsin on Griggs Reservoir on Saturday afternoon.

The invite consisted of five rounds of five-minute pieces, with the Hawkeyes taking five boats, three experienced and two first-year crews. This marks the end of the fall season as the team has been building its skills in anticipation for the spring season.

“There were solid performances from each crew today but there is always room to improve,” said head coach Jeff Garbutt. “We learned a lot about the squad today and will continue to build off our performances this fall into winter training.

“We have a clear vision of what needs to be improved upon over the winter and are proud of the improvements the girls have already shown. We have learned some powerful lessons this season and look forward to working hard in the offseason.”
