Graves Voted Academic All-America

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa junior Aaron Graves has been named to the Academic All-America second team. The announcement was made on Tuesday by College Sports Communicators, formerly the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Graves, who boasts a perfect 4.00 grade point average, is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten and Dean's List honoree. The exercise science major also earned Academic All-District recognition and was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2023.

Graves (6-foot-4, 300 pounds) earned honorable mention all-conference accolades after starting all 13 games at left defensive tackle in 2024. He totaled 33 tackles (17 solo, 16 assists), including eight tackles for a loss (six sacks), three forced fumbles, three pass break-ups, and two quarterback pressures. The native of Dayton, Iowa was tabbed Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week after registering five tackles, including two sacks, forced a career-high two fumbles, and broke-up a pass in Iowa's 40-16 victory over Washington on Oct. 12, 2024.

He ranked fourth on the squad in tackles (65), tied for third with four pass break-ups, to go along with an interception (39-yard return versus Rutgers). After the season, Schulte was named an honorable mention all-conference selection and was a Brett Greenwood Award recipient.

In 26 seasons under Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, 12 Iowa football student-athletes have combined on 16 occasions to earn Academic All-America recognition.
