IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa junior Tereza Dejnozkova has been named a Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch for the 2025 spring season, it was announced Monday by the league office.
During the fall season, the Czech Republic native posted a 5-4 overall singles record and a 3-2 mark in doubles. She finished third at the ITA Central Regionals in October – the highest finish by a Hawkeye all-time.
The finish earned Dejnozkova a spot in the ITA Sectional Championships, where she posted a 1-1 record. She was also an alternate for the NCAA Singles Championships.
Dejnozkova played her first two collegiate seasons at South Alabama, where she was a second-team All-Sun Belt selection as a sophomore. She won 32 singles and 23 doubles matches during her two seasons.
The Hawkeyes will open the 2025 season on Jan. 20, hosting Illinois State at noon (CT) at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center.
