15 schools will be traveling to Puerto Rico to compete headlined by six ranked opponents with eight receiving votes: No. 1 Ole Miss, No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 6 LSU, No. 7 Virginia, No. 18 South Carolina, No. 23 Tennessee, RV Georgia, RV Ohio State, Purdue, College of Charleston, Iowa, Marquette, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Florida.
THE COURSE
Designed by PGA Tour professional, Tom Kite, the unique 18- hole course brings a dynamic golfing experience like no other. The immaculate course features seashore paspalum grass, white silica sand bunkers and challenging water hazards for truly world-class play.
HAWKEYES AT THE PUERTO RICO CLASSIC
This marks the sixth year of the Hawkeyes in the Puerto Rico Classic, debuting in 2019 where they placed seventh out of 15 teams. In 2022 Mac McClear shot 8-under par (64) in the tournaments final round to finish tied for ninth. McClear's final round 64 marked the third lowest round in program history.
In 2023, the Hawkeyes finished above No. 28 Purdue and No. 45 Marquette. Last season, they defeated two top-25 teams: No. 9 ETSU and No. 25 Ohio State.
THE EVENT
The Puerto Rico Classic is hosted annually by Purdue Universty; 2025 marks the 32nd year of the event and its fourth year at Grand Reserve Golf Club.
THE RETURNERS
Gage Messingham opened the season with a ninth-place finish at the Gopher Invite and followed with a top-25 finish at the Purdue Invite. He shot a season-low 69 in the first round of the Notre Dame Invite.
Max Toja recorded his best finish of the season at the Gopher Invite, placing 17th. He followed with a 24th-place finish at the Purdue Invite where he shot a season-low 69 in the third round.
John Lundmark has started in 11 meets for the Hawkeyes since transferring from Cornell in 2023. He posted a season-low 63 in the final round of the Fallen Oak Intercollegiate.
SIGNING DAY RECAP
Bennett Warren, from Olathe, Kansas, has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Iowa men’s golf program, it was announced by head coach Tyler Stith.

FALL SEASON WRAP-UP
Iowa had a strong fall season, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the Gopher Invitational, led by Gage Messingham, who placed ninth individually. The Hawkeyes also secured a third-place finish out of 15 teams at the Purdue Invite, shooting 6-over par. At the Fighting Irish Classic, Iowa placed eighth, defeating No. 20 Duke, RV Washington, and RV Michigan State. The Hawkeyes concluded their fall season at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, where they took down RV UNLV.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hawkeyes will travel to Bluffton, S.C. where they will compete in the Colleton River Collegiate hosted by Michigan State University. The 54-hole tournament will tee of on March 2nd and conclude on the 3rd.
