IOWA CITY, Iowa – Senior Makayla Hughbanks placed 18th in the three-meter dive on day one of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships inside the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center on Monday.
The senior from Bettendorf tallied 598.30 points as a finalist in the three-meter dive.
Hughbanks was clutch in her last two dives of the prelims, catapulting from 22nd overall to 16th and qualifying for the finals. Hughbanks amassed 300.70 points through six dives.
The Hawkeyes return to the well on Tuesday, competing in the one-meter dive beginning at Noon (CT) inside the CRWC.
