IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa senior Payton Sandfort will participate in the State Farm College Dunk and 3-Point Championships at the Final Four in San Antonio, Texas, at 6 p.m. (CT) on April 3 at the Frost Bank Center – the home of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs.
Sandfort becomes the seventh Hawkeye to be invited to the event and first since 2022, joining Dean Oliver (2001), Luke Recker (2002), Jeff Horner (2006), Adam Haluska (2007), Peter Jok (2017) and Jordan Bohannon (2022). Jok won the event in 2017 in Phoenix and Bohannon in 2022 in New Orleans.
During his four-year career, Sandfort scored 1,619 points, which ranks 11th in program history. He made 271 career 3-point field goals – second-most all-time – and finished with the best free throw percentage (.896) in the record books.
