IOWA CITY, Iowa – 2025 Iowa Mr. Basketball Trevin Jirak (Yur-ock) has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Iowa men’s basketball program, it was announced Thursday by head coach Ben McCollum.
Jirak, a 6-foot-11, 260-pound center from West Des Moines, Iowa, is the first Class of 2025 high school prospect to sign under McCollum. He is also the first Iowan signed under the Hawkeyes’ first-year head coach.
“Trevin is a skilled post player who can pass, post and shoot,” said McCollum. “He grew a few inches during the school year to get him to around 6-foot-11, which can make an impact in the Big Ten Conference. We’re really looking forward to getting him to Iowa City.”
Jirak is the seventh player to join the new-look Iowa roster this spring, joining Drake transfers Bennett Stirtz, Kael Combs, Cam Manyawu, Isaia Howard and Tavion Banks and Hawkeye returnee Cooper Koch.
