Peters Closes Out B1Gs with a 2-Under Par 70

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. – Sophomore Maura Peters fired a two-under par 70 to pace the University of Iowa women’s golf team during the final round of the Big Ten Championships at the Bulle Rock Golf Course. 

Peters had four birdies and 11 pars en route to her two-under par performance. The Iowa native moved up 23 spots during the final round to finish in a tie for 29th place with a three-day total of 222 (75-77-70), tying her best 54-hole score for the season. 

Freshman Lily Huether matched Saturday’s round with final round 74 on Sunday, moving up another three spots into a tie for 50th. Playing in her first Big Ten Championships, Huether had a 54-hole total of 226 (78-74-74), tying her best tournament score of the season. 

Senior Paula Miranda finished one shot back of Peters, finishing with a 54-hole total of 223 (76-71-76), finishing in a tie for 37th place. 

Iowa’s 296 final round was its tournament best.  The Hawkeyes finished in 14th place in the field with a 54-hole total of 899 (303-300-296).  

Oregon took home the team title with a 12-under par 852 (286-290-276). The Ducks’ Kiara Romero shot a seven-under par 209 (71-70-68) to win the individual title.
