FWAA Recognizes Iowa Athletic Strategic Communications with Super 11 Award

The Iowa Athletic Strategic Communications Office has been honored with the Football Writers Association of America Super 11 Award for the 2024 season.

DALLAS – The University of Iowa Athletic Strategic Communications Office has been honored with the Football Writers Association of America Super 11 Award for the 2024 season, it was announced Tuesday by the FWAA.

It is the third time in the last six years that Iowa has been recognized as having one of the best sports information departments in the Football Bowl Subdivision.  The department was previously recognized in 2019 and 2021.

Iowa was joined on the 2024 Super 11 list by Army, California, Clemson, Navy, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas Tech and West Virginia.

This year’s winners were deemed to have had excellent accessibility during the week of their games and after the game with a program’s players, coaches and coordinators/assistant coaches. Other criteria regarding beat reporter access, interview requests, and decorum and protocols in the press box and locker room are listed in the 2024-25 FWAA Directory.

The Football Writers Association of America, a non-profit organization founded in 1941, consists of more than 1,300 men and women across North America who cover college football for a living. The membership includes journalists, broadcasters and publicists, as well as key executives in all the areas that involve the game. The FWAA works to govern areas that include game-day operations, major awards, a national poll and its annual All-America teams.
