DALLAS, Texas – The University of Iowa women’s golf team is currently in eighth place through 36 holes of the Veritex Bank Challenge at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
The Hawkeyes opened the tournament with a 296, putting them in fourth place, before posting a 299 over round two, giving them a total of 595. Iowa is one shot out of seventh and five shots out of fifth place.
Sophomore Ximena Benites is pacing the team, sitting in a tie for 11th place with a two-round total of 144. The Peru native fired back-to-back 73s after carding four birdies in round one and two more over her second 18 holes.
