IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa softball sophomore student-athlete Devin Simon has earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, the association announced on Tuesday.
The Cascade, Iowa, native is pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology. This is Simon's first academic all-district honor.
On the field in 2025, Simon appeared in 53 games with 52 starts in right field for the Hawkeyes. She finished the season with a .968 fielding percentage recording just two errors in 62 chances. Simon hit .246 with three home runs and seven doubles. She had a .344 on base percentage with 20 free passes and picked up three stolen bases.
To be eligible for the award, nominees must have a 3.50 GPA and completed one full calendar year at their current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Nominees must also be a starter or important reserve to the team and participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.
Simon advances to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America teams will be announced on June 17th.
