The University of Iowa baseball team defeated the Mississauga Tigers, 31-4, in a scheduled 14 inning game on Friday night at Duane Banks Field.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa baseball team defeated the Mississauga Tigers, 31-4, in a scheduled 14 inning game on Friday night at Duane Banks Field.

The Iowa offense recorded 32 hits including 6 doubles and three home runs.

Caleb Wulf went 3-for-5 on the night while Kellen Strohmeyer was 4-for-4. Matthew Delgado hit a grand slam and Gable Mitchell and Tyler Guerin each added two run blasts of their own. Kyle Alivo recorded a triple and a double on a 2-for-3 night.

Brody Ihrlbeck got the start on the mound as Iowa used 11 different arms. Ihrlbeck struck out two while allowing no runs and no hits in two innings of work. Nick Terhaar relived him and stuck out four in two innings of work. Maddux Frese, Carter Wilcox and Nick Heitman each struck out two Tigers while Cole Moore had three punchouts.

In total, Iowa allowed three hits while striking out 19 and walking 12.
