Hawkeyes Complete Day 2 at Cyclone Invitational

AMES, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team continued play at the Cyclone Invitational on Saturday, earning its third doubles victory of the weekend.

Sophomore Sally Xu and freshman Eline Bex teamed up for an 8-6 win over Minnesota’s Anlen Xie and Yinong Ma.

In singles play, Xu dropped a tight match to Xie, 7-5, 6-3, while Bex fell to Ma, 6-1, 7.-5

The Hawkeyes will conclude competition at the Cyclone Invitational on Sunday.

“We started the day with another great win in doubles against a Big Ten team, building on the momentum from yesterday,” said Iowa assistant coach Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell. “We fell short in some moments in singles which we can learn from. We’re excited for another competitive day tomorrow to conclude the invite.”
