Endene Named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week

University of Iowa graduate student Massoma Endene has been named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced Friday.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa graduate student Massoma Endene has been named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced Friday.

The Dallas, Texas, native earned the honor after defeating fourth ranked Mac Stout, 5-4, as Iowa defeated No. 19 Pittsburgh, 36-0.

Trailing 4-2, Endene got a takedown with four seconds remaining in the bout to knock off the former All-American.

Endene is the second Hawkeye to earn Big Ten Wrestler of the Week honors this season.

No. 3 Iowa returns to action Sunday at Iowa State at Noon (CT) for the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series in Ames.
