A Letter from Beth Goetz

Dear Hawkeye Nation:

I hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. This season always reminds me how fortunate we are to be part of something bigger than ourselves. At Iowa, we are united by a loyal and passionate community whose love for the Hawkeyes spans generations. That spirit—rooted in pride, tradition, and unwavering support—makes this place truly special. I am grateful to be part of the Hawkeye family.

This fall has already given us so much to celebrate. Football closed the regular season with eight wins, and selling out Kinnick Stadium for the fourth consecutive year. The team brought home all three conference rivalry trophies and remains one of only four programs in the country to win eight or more games annually over the past decade. Our men’s and women’s basketball programs are off to a combined 15-0 start, wrestling seasons are underway, and our fall Olympic sports delivered competitive seasons across the board, with both soccer and field hockey advancing to the NCAA Tournament. Just as importantly, our student-athletes continue to excel academically, and we anticipate another record-setting semester in the classroom.

Your support makes this all possible. When you fill our venues, purchase season tickets, or share your Hawkeye pride, you create the atmosphere that defines Iowa Athletics. That connection—between fans, teams, and community—is what makes the black and gold truly special.

As the landscape of college athletics continues to evolve, we remain committed to providing our student-athletes every opportunity to succeed. This includes revenue sharing within NCAA guidelines and expanding above-the-cap NIL opportunities. Through partnerships with Hawkeye Sports Properties and our corporate partners, we are helping our student-athletes leverage their personal brands to create value locally and beyond—strengthening our programs while giving them meaningful real-world experience.

Many Hawkeyes have chosen to support the University’s Flight Funds, which help us provide revenue sharing for select teams and student-athletes. For those interested, this remains an important avenue to strengthen Iowa Athletics—one that directly supports our mission without becoming the focus of it. Others have generously invested in scholarships, facilities, and sport-specific needs, and we are deeply grateful for your impact. The Swarm continues to play a role in supporting Iowa student-athletes through membership and events, complementing the University’s efforts to build a broad foundation of support. We are thankful for all you do to ensure the success of our students in competition and in the classroom.

As we look ahead, I hope you continue to feel proud of the role you play in shaping this Hawkeye community. Your engagement, energy, and belief in our teams matter every day. Thank you for being part of what makes Iowa so special.
