THIS WEEK
The University of Iowa women’s golf team travels to Johns Island, South Carolina, for the Briar's Creek Invitational on March 16–17. The 54-hole tournament will be played at The Golf Club at Briars Creek (par 72, 6,152 yards) and begins Monday with a 7:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start.

THE LINEUP
Iowa’s lineup includes freshman Sunny Wang, sophmore Lily Huether, junior Maura Peters, junior Ximena Benites, and senior Riley Lewis.
THE FIELD
The 15-team field includes: Boston College, Clemson, College of Charleston, East Carolina University, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, NC State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Purdue, SMU, and UCF.
THE COURSE
The Golf Club at Briar's Creek is known as one of the premier private golf clubs in South Carolina’s Lowcountry, offering a scenic setting just outside Charleston. Designed by Rees Jones, the course features wide fairways, natural marshland views, and well-maintained greens that highlight the area’s coastal landscape. The layout provides a strong test for golfers while remaining enjoyable to play. With its beautiful surroundings and reputation for hosting competitive events, Briars Creek has become a respected venue for amateur and collegiate tournaments.
LAST MEET
The Hawkeyes finished 5th at the Shootout at Wachesaw, recording a 36-hole total of 596 (301-295).
Sophomore Lily Huether paced the Hawkeyes with a 5-over-par 77 in the opening round. She responded with a career-low 1-under-par 71 in the second round, carding two birdies and 15 pars. Huether finished the tournament tied for 14th with a 36-hole total of 148.
Junior Maura Peters opened with a 3-over-par 75, tallying 12 pars and two birdies. She followed with a 2-over-par 74 in the second round to finish tied for 16th with a 36-hole total of 149.
OF NOTE…
• Sophomore Lily Huether recorded a career-low round of 1-under-par 71 in the second round at the Shootout at wachesaw.
•Freshman Sunny Wang, competing as an individual, recorded a career-low 70 (-2) in the opening round of the Wachesaw Shootout and followed it with an even-par 72 in the final round to finish sixth overall.
• Senior Riley Lewis earned a career-best eighth-place finish after carding rounds of 68–69–74 for a 54-hole total of 211 to open her spring season at the Puerto Rico Classic.
• Junior Maura Peters led Iowa with an even-par 72 in the final round of the Spartan Sun Coast Collegiate.

Iowa returns to action March 20–22, traveling to Saddle Brooke, Arizona, for the Mountain View Collegiate.
