JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. — The University of Iowa women’s golf team completed play at the Briar’s Creek Invitational at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek. The Hawkeyes posted a 36-hole team total of 596 (+20) following Tuesday’s final round.
Junior Ximena Benites paced Iowa, finishing with a two-round total of 146 (74–72), two-over par. Benites recorded four birdies and 11 pars across the tournament, moving up from a tie for 36th to finish tied for 28th.
Senior Riley Lewis carded a 2-over-par 74 in the final round, tallying three birdies and 12 pars to finish tied for 34th. Junior Maura Peters wrapped up the tournament with a 4-over-par 76 in the final round, recording three birdies and eight pars to finish tied for 56th.
Sophomore Lily Huether finished tied for 74th, while freshman Sunny Wang placed tied for 79th to round out Iowa’s lineup.
Boston College claimed the team title with a 36-hole total of 565. Ellie Hildreth of NC State earned medalist honors with a 6-under-par 138 (68–70).
