3 GymHawks Earn All-Big Ten Honors

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Sophomore Aurélie Tran earned first-team All-Big Ten honors to lead three University of Iowa women’s gymnasts recognized by the conference Wednesday.

Sophomore Aurélie Tran earned first-team honors for the second consecutive season, while fifth-year JerQuavia Henderson and freshman Sophie Schriever were named to the second team. Schriever also earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team.

Tran collected her second career All-Big Ten honor after earning first-team and All-Freshman recognition in 2025. The Repentigny, Quebec, native won 14 event titles this season and was the only GymHawk to compete in the all-around in every meet. Tran finished the regular season ranked 14th nationally and fifth in the Big Ten in the all-around with a national qualifying score (NQS) of 39.420. She also ranks 25th nationally and third in the conference on bars with a 9.910 NQS. Tran tied the program bars record with a 9.975. 

Tran posted career highs on every apparatus this season: bars (9.975), floor (9.925), vault (9.900), beam (9.900) and the all-around (39.600). At the final home meet of the season, her career-best all-around score of 39.600 tied for the 10th-best mark in program history.

Henderson earned her fourth career Big Ten honor after returning to the lineup for the first time since 2023. She previously earned first-team recognition in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The Peoria, Illinois, native won or shared two floor titles and one vault title this season. On Jan. 17 against Michigan State, Henderson placed first in the all-around with a score of 39.375.

Henderson posted season highs on vault (9.900) and floor (9.950). She ranks 58th nationally and 13th in the Big Ten on floor with a 9.890 NQS and sits 68th nationally and 15th in the conference on vault with a 9.855 NQS.

Schriever earned second-team All-Big Ten and All-Freshman Team honors after emerging as one of Iowa’s most consistent all-arounders this season. The Sandy, Utah, native ranks ninth in the Big Ten and 25th nationally in the all-around with a 39.345 NQS.

Schriever opened her collegiate career with five event titles and competed in the all-around eight times for the Hawkeyes. Her season-best marks include: 9.925 (vault), 9.925 (bars), 9.900 (beam), 9.925 (floor), and 39.475 (all-around). 

Fifth-year Marissa Rojas was named Iowa’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.

The 21st-ranked University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team travels to Champaign, Illinois, for the 2026 Big Ten Championships on Saturday at the State Farm Center on Big Ten Network. The Hawkeyes will compete in Session II at noon (CT) against No. 17 Ohio State, No. 17 Penn State and No. 27 Maryland.
