SADDLE BROOKE, Ariz. — The University of Iowa women’s golf team is tied for third place after two rounds of the Mountain View Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club.
The Hawkeyes posted a 36-hole score of 2-under-par 574 (288-286).
Senior Riley Lewis continues to lead Iowa, carding an even-par 72 in the second round with 16 pars and one birdie. She enters the final round tied for fourth place.
Junior Ximena Benites followed her opening-round performance with a 1-under-par 71, recording three birdies and 14 pars. Benites is tied for seventh place.
Junior Maura Peters shot an even-par 72 in round two, tallying three birdies and 12 pars. Peters climbed 10 spots into a tie for 23rd place heading into the final round.
Sophomore Lily Huether carded a 1-under-par 71 with five birdies and is tied for 37th place, while freshman Sunny Wang posted a 1-over-par 73 and is tied for 52nd.
Iowa State leads the team standings at 15-under par, while North Texas’ Malisone Chanthapanya holds the individual lead at 7-under.
