IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa softball team fell, 1-0, to Minnesota in Sunday’s rubber match at Pearl Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Minnesota broke through in the top of the fifth inning, scoring the game’s lone run to take a 1-0 lead.
The Hawkeyes scattered three baserunners in the contest but were unable to bring a run across.
Serayah Neiss got the start in the circle, tossing five innings while striking out three and retiring 15 of the 19 batters she faced.
Avery Sapp entered in the sixth and made an immediate impact, recording four strikeouts in her outing.
Minnesota secured the weekend series, 2-1.
