IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa softball team will host St. Thomas for a midweek doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Bob Pearl Field. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
The Hawkeyes enter the doubleheader with a 19-10 overall record. Iowa is coming off a series loss to Minnesota, dropping two of three games. The Hawkeyes secured the middle game, walking off the Golden Gophers, 3-2, in extra innings.
In its first season as a Division I program, St. Thomas holds a 21-7 overall record and is 3-0 in Summit League play. The Tommies are coming off a three-game sweep over Kansas City.
Iowa leads the all-time series, 2-0. The programs’ last meeting was also their first — a doubleheader on March 12, 2025 — when Iowa swept both games.
As a team, the Tommies are batting .308 with a 2.12 ERA. St. Thomas has three pitchers with a 2.45 ERA or lower. Senior Ella Cook leads the pitching staff with a 1.68 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings pitched. Offensively, senior Avery Wukawitz leads the team in home runs (11) and runs scored (38). She is batting .419 through 27 starts.
Iowa is hitting .313 as a team with a 4.24 ERA. Senior Tory Bennett leads the squad with seven home runs and 25 runs scored. Sophomore Kiara Sipe is batting .357 and has a team-best 26 RBIs this season. In the circle, freshman Braylen Conlon ranks first on the team with a 3.35 ERA and has 28 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings pitched.
