Heiden Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa women’s basketball student-athlete Ava Heiden has been named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections, it was announced Tuesday by the CSC.

This is the first academic honor Heiden has received at Iowa. Heiden was also selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 15.

To be eligible for the award, nominees must have a 3.5 GPA and completed one full calendar year at their current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Nominees must also be a starter or important reserve to the team and participate in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.

Heiden, a native of Sherwood, Oregon, is a finance major where she carries a 3.74 grade point average.
