No. 45 Iowa Falls at Indiana, 4-2

The 45th-ranked University of Iowa women’s tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to Indiana (12-6, 2-4) on Friday at the IU Tennis Center.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The 45th-ranked University of Iowa women’s tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to Indiana (12-6, 2-4) on Friday at the IU Tennis Center. 

The Hawkeyes opened the match by securing the doubles point. At No. 2, Tereza Dejnozkova and Emma Tothová claimed a 6-3 victory over Elisabeth Dunac and Ameia Sorey. Nikita Vishwase and Pia Kranholdt clinched the doubles point for Iowa on court three with a 6-4 win over Chase Boyer and Nicole Teodosescu.

The remaining doubles match on court one was left unfinished, with Alessandra Teodosescu and Hi'ilani Williams leading No. 28 Mia Mack and Daianne Hayshida, 5-4.

In singles action, the Hoosiers tied the match at one at No. 5, where Williams defeated Vishwase, 6-2, 6-1. On court three, Dunac added a 6-4, 6-1 win over Dejnozkova. At No. 6, Nicole Sifuentes claimed a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Kranholdt.

The Hawkeyes responded at No. 1, where No. 57 Mack added a straight-set 6-4, 6-0 victory over Sorey.

The Hoosiers clinched the match on court four, where Nicole Teodosescu edged Tothová, 7-5, 6-4.

The remaining singles match on court two was left unfinished with Indiana clinching its fourth point. Alessandra Teodosescu led Hayashida 7-6(7-5), 5-2.
