Hawkeyes Head West for Big Ten Invitational

IOWA CITY, IOWA – The University of Iowa rowing team is traveling west for the Big Ten Invitational hosted by Michigan State at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif. Live results can be found on HereNow and B1G+ will stream all three sessions.

FORMAT
The Hawkeyes are bringing all seven Big Ten boat classes, 1V8, 2V8, 3V8, 4V8, 1V4, 2V4 and 3V4. Iowa will compete in three sessions of racing, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.

THE FIELD
The 19-team field is comprised of Big Ten and non-conference opponents. In attendance: No. 1 Stanford, No. 5 Washington, No. 9 CAL, No. 12 Rutgers, No. 16 Ohio State, No. 17 Michigan, No. 20 UCLA, No. 23 Indiana, Gonzaga, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Sacramento State, San Diego, USC, Washington State and Wisconsin.

“We are really looking forward to racing and exploring Sacramento. This will be a great weekend to test ourselves against the best. This is the first weekend that the entire Big Ten roster will race and I am really excited to see what our 4V8 can do. They have all put a lot of time and effort into the sport and this weekend will be about going out and competing but also enjoying the moment. We are looking to improve each race and continue to get faster and push our fitness. Go Hawks!”
