PITTSBURGH -- University of Iowa center Logan Jones was selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of Friday's NFL Draft. Jones was the 57th player picked overall.

The Council Bluffs, Iowa, native is the 22nd offensive linemen selected in the Kirk Ferentz era. Furthermore, it is the ninth time a Hawkeye offensive lineman has been drafted in the top three rounds, dating back to 2002.

Jones (6-foot-3, 302 pounds) was voted a unanimous consensus All-American following a standout 2025 senior season. He was also the recipient of the 2025 Rimington Trophy, given to the nation’s top collegiate center, was an Outland Trophy finalist and earned first-team All-Big Ten recognition.

Jones anchored Iowa's offensive line, which won the 2025 Joe Moore Award. He started 51 career games and served as a game captain all 13 games in 2025. The native of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was the top-rated center in the country by Pro Football Focus and was not flagged for an offensive holding penalty in 2025. Jones’ protection, along with the rest of the line, helped quarterback Mark Gronowski break school single-season records for rushing yards (545) and rushing touchdowns (16) by a quarterback.

Iowa’s offense averaged 176.7 rushing yards per game and the line surrendered just 18 total sacks during the year. Jones and the Hawkeyes out-rushed their opponents 10 times in 2025, including gaining more than 200 yards in five games. Jones was the Outland Trophy National Player of the Week on the weekend of Oct. 25 following Iowa’s 41-3 convincing victory over Minnesota.

Chicago won 11 games a year ago and are the reigning NFL North Champions. It marks the second time in three years that the Bears selected a Hawkeye (P Tory Taylor in 2024).

Iowa has had at least one player drafted in every NFL Draft since 1978. Jones is the 95th player coached by Kirk Ferentz at the University of Iowa to be selected in the NFL Draft.
