A senior-to-be, Medina, will have one season left as a Hawkeye. She joins joining Georgia guards Dani Carnegie and Jocelyn Faison, Oklahoma State guard Amari Whiting out of the transfer portal.
Medina, the 5-foot-6 guard averaged 23.6 points per game in her junior season, which was the second-most in Division III women’s basketball. She also recorded 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game this past season. Additionally, Medina was the first player in Knox College history to be named to the NCAA DIII Region 9 First Team, while also being tabbed as the Midwest Conference Player of the Year.
“We are so excited to add Bria to our program,” Jensen said. “Her energy and gratitude to be a part of our family is the coolest part about her. She had a great deal of scoring success at Knox College and has an immense amount of appreciation for our sport. Her mindset and work ethic is what set her apart for us as we went through the process.”
Strömdahl (6-foot) is the second player in Iowa’s freshman class, joining five-star prospect McKenna Woliczko. She arrives from Uppsala, Sweden, becoming the first Swedish player in program history. Last winter, she played on the RIG Lulea Swedish academy team and averaged 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. Strömdahl has also competed on Sweden’s under-16 and under-18 national teams during her prep career.
“Ella is a versatile wing that we are really excited about joining our team,” Jensen said. “We like her ability to put it on the floor and to shoot it. Ella has a ton of potential, and we are thrilled to have her in Iowa City. Just like Bria, Ella is a great young woman that we look forward to working with.”
The Hawkeyes now have six newcomers for the 2026-27 season.
