IOWA CITY, Iowa – Georgia transfer Jocelyn Faison has signed with the University of Iowa women’s basketball program, it was announced Sunday by P. Sue Beckwith, MD, Head Coach Jan Jensen.
A sophomore-to-be, Faison, will have three seasons remaining as a Hawkeye. She is the third transfer portal prospect to sign with Iowa for next season, joining former teammate Dani Carnegie and Oklahoma State transfer Amari Whiting.
Faison played in 25 games this past season with the Bulldogs and averaged 7.8 minutes, 1.3 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.
“We’re so excited to have Jocelyn. She has an extremely high ceiling and brings great length and versatility,” Jensen said. “I’m looking forward to working with her in our system and welcoming her to the Hawkeye family.”
The 6-foot-1 guard was ranked No. 76 nationally and the No. 4 player in the state of Georgia out of Langston Hughes High School in Atlanta. She was also tabbed as the Region Player of the Year and First Team All-Region by the Georgia High School Association. In addition to those region awards, she earned All-State recognition from the Atlanta Tip-off Club.
