Iowa, Manyawu Earn NABC Academic Honors

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa men’s basketball team earned the 2025-26 National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award, it was announced Wednesday by the NABC. 

Individually, junior Cam Manyawu was named to the NABC Honors Court.  The distinction goes to junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Manyawu, a finance major, was a CSC Academic All-District selection as a junior, while also being the team recipient of the Kenny Arnold Spirit Award.  The Kansas City, Missouri, native started all 37 games, averaging 6.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 19.2 minutes.  He shot 63.1 percent from the field in helping the Hawkeyes reach the Elite Eight for the first time since 1987. 

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
