Vishwase Named Assistant Tennis Coach

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Nikita Vishwase has been named assistant coach for the University of Iowa women's tennis program, head coach Sasha Boros announced today. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Nikita back to Iowa Women’s Tennis as our assistant coach," Boros said. "I have seen firsthand the passion and enthusiasm she has for this team and this program, as well as the genuine belief she has in our student-athletes and staff and in what we can accomplish together. I am always excited when a young woman chooses to pursue coaching, and I believe Nikita will be an incredible addition not only to our program, but to college coaching more broadly. She brings her heart to everything she does, and that is powerful. I am deeply grateful that she has chosen to return to Iowa, and we are ready to get to work.”

Vishwase spent three seasons as a tennis student-athlete after transferring from Louisiana State (Baton Rouge) University as a sophomore, going 35-52 in singles and 54-44 in doubles over her four-year collegiate career. During her junior season, she was an Academic All-Big Ten selection while ranking as high as No. 65 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) doubles rankings alongside teammate Tereza Dejnozkova with a team-high 17 doubles victories. As a senior, she was the tennis representative on the Iowa Student-Athlete Advisory Committee while being named Iowa's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award nominee. 

"The University of Iowa has truly become home to me over the past three years, so returning as assistant coach is incredibly meaningful and so exciting," Vishwase said. "This program has had such a lasting impact on my life, both on and off the court. The coaches, teammates and people here helped shape who I am today. The opportunity to give back to a place that has given me so much is something I’m incredibly grateful for. I’m excited to work alongside Sasha, build meaningful relationships with our student-athletes, and help continue the culture that makes Iowa Women’s Tennis so special."

Vishwase entered college as the No. 1 player in Arizona, according to TennisRecruiting.net. She graduated from Iowa in spring 2026 with a degree in pre-business.
