WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The University of Iowa women’s soccer team fell to No. 11 Wake Forest, 2-0, on Thursday evening at the W. Dennie Spry Soccer Stadium. The Hawkeyes move to 2-1-0 on the season.
Wake Forest midfielder Lola Ressler found the back of the net in the first minute to give the Demon Deacons an early 1-0 lead.
The Hawkeyes managed to keep the Demon Deacon lead to one until halftime. Despite the deficit, Iowa outshot their opponent 8-7 in the first half, with three being on target. Braelynn Galt also logged two saves in the first half.
Wake Forest increased their lead in the 52nd minute with Ressler scoring again for her first brace of the season.
The Hawkeyes were unable to rally, falling 2-0.

- Iowa outshot Wake Forest 17-10. The last time the Hawkeyes outshot an opponent in a loss was on Nov. 21, 2025, against No. 4 LSU.
