AMES, Iowa – The University of Iowa soccer team defeated Iowa State, 2-0, in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series on Thursday evening at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
The Hawkeyes improved to 4-1-0 with the win, their fourth consecutive victory over the Cyclones and ninth in the last 11 meetings.
In the fourth minute, the Hawkeyes drew a foul in the box, allowing Kylie Cino to find the back of the net to give Iowa an early 1-0 lead.
Iowa maintained the pressure throughout the opening half, outshooting ISU, 13-2, with six shots on target. Goalkeeper Braelynn Galt collected a save as the Hawkeyes carried the one-goal advantage into the break.
